Unofficial Finale PartyA bunch of the competitors got together last night at Son Nguyen's house outside Los Angeles for a "wrap" party. I'm not clear on why they weren't at the big "American Gladiators" wrap party (shown on YouTube here and here), but I'm digging in to it. (Click the photo for a larger version.)

I have another picture showing the ladies at right, a bunch of the male competitors and also Belinda Gavin, who's not in the photo at right. I'll add the link to that photo after I have a chance to resize it - it's too big to post right now and I'm using a laptop that doesn't have photo editing software.

Seriously - don't you wish you were there? Just look at those gorgeous girl jocks!

Venus RamosI've added a Venus Ramos bio to the site. Venus was an alternate competitor, brought in after Jessie Foster bowed out from a knee injury. Presumably a hurried phone call was made to the office of (Dr.) Venus Ramos from a desperate NBC production assistant when Foster went down: "Can you be over here in X minutes?"

Fortunately, Venus Ramos is willing to suffer considerable inconvenience to appear on a reality show. In fact, she's appeared on such programs numerous times. Past broadcast experience as described in the online resume of Venus Ramos:

• Temptation Island -- Single Woman -- Rocket Science Labs/FOX

Is there a slang term for someone who repeatedly appears on reality TV programs? The phenomenon is a bit similar to those people who stand at the window on the Today Show, except Venus manages to get past a casting director.
